Disconnected

Cue Music.

The weekend of colours and I was at home, maybe the first time during Holi in the last 3 years. Mom's cooking, a marriage anniversary and a few odd jobs; was fun. Had been missing family and friends back home. It is one of our idiosyncrasies that we connect best with the folks we grew up with, but even so, people change. All the time. Some incident or jealousy or fear or ambition, it's a good thing to change yourself. Keep on reinventing and trying out new things. It is equally balanced to assume that darkness is the absence of light, and we all return back to our vices, at some point or the other.

At college, miles away from the cocoon of home and my hometown, meeting new people is..normal. Different human beings with different trains of thoughts, some mentalities downright outrageous, some thought provoking and some, aligned with yours. As social animals, making connections is natural to us, though some of your might consider yourself to be a lone soldier. Sure, we're all slightly unique and that's beautiful. People Change.

I carry an assumption/expectation. I want all my loved ones, friends, family, pets to have an upward growth curve. Being more sensitive to others. Doing right by themselves. Overcome your issues. Disciplined. Magnanimous. Not to stand by dishonesty. Humanitarian. A sense of purpose. Being warm, and genteel humans. The sense of brotherhood. Frequent reality checks and balances. Healthy, mentally and physically. Qualities I want to ingrain within myself too, and others, as an overall sense of positivism and vitality.

Farts are Beautiful (Swiss Army Man)

The film, Swiss Army Man put this weird concept, and this is probably one of the silliest things I'm ever going to write: A post about farts.
Click(bait) here and enjoy my really bad taste in humour.

No wait, also listen to this.

Where were we? Oh yeah.
The film is a gem of modern storytelling, acting, and direction. It is a beautiful film which explores dark themes of death, absurdism, suicidal tendencies, necrophilia, and blatant hypocrisies of a constantly connected social world.
Me. Guy on the right.

Basically, the film has a farting corpse. And that is as gross as it sounds.

So why farts? The corpse, Manny lets go of his backdoor breezes throughout the film (gross level rising).

You see, we normally don't let off a bit of steam in public (unless it's an accident). We don't go about hooting our trumpets at a party at the cost of

Motorsport and Engineering

An International Engineering Design Competition, thousands of students, hundreds of judges; all of this with one goal: Practical Learning with fun. This is Formula Student.

Encompassing all aspects of the automobile industry which include: strategic conceptualizing, designing, manufacturing and commercializing a car, this competition prepares engineering students to be industry-ready.
Whroom Whroom

What do we do?

Hermes racing, of the Automotive Society, SAEINDIAKIIT, is the official Formula Student Team of KIIT University. We participate in national and international engineering design competitions like Formula Bharat, Formula Student India and SUPRA SAE India. We are driven by the principle “Dream, Design, Drive”.

From designing a car on computers to grinding metal for building the car, working tirelessly is our daily routine; operating yearlong to manufacture perfectly finished parts for our car. Rigorous testing sessions validate all the components. Documenting the prices from the engine to the smallest nut fixed on the car, preparing a business proposal to woo the investors; we do it all. Creating a strong public presence and working with the industry for mutual benefits, is another part of the game.

The Team stands on three pillars: Innovative Engineering, Organized Teamwork, and Careful Project Management.

How do we feel?

Well, achieving 3rd position all over India among 150 teams does feel good.

Where does this get us?

The program is designed to enhance the engineering, management and presentation skills of the students; skills essential for every industry. This has been proven by our alumni who are presently working in big corporate houses like Fiat, Tata and TVS.

All this with limited resources. With more funds in the near future, we plan to compete against the world’s best teams at international engineering design competitions taking part in Germany and UK.

2016? 2016

Since this is a personal blog, I'd like to keep it personal, with a ton of mistakes, repetitive distress signals and bits of my personality sprayed about like glitter made out of excrement. (I really hope shitty glitter doesn't exist :O )

2016 has been terribly wonderful year for me. I really don't care about the actors who died or the politicians elected. Yes, some terrible conflicts and crashing of several economies, but leaving the world aside, I, an infinitesimal speck of a world so large yet so small in the grand scale of things, had a good year.

Fun times and sighs

I turned 21 and realised that Star Wars is actually pretty good. Episodes 4, 5 and 6. I shall never forgive the time lost behind Episode 1.
What struck me are tons of facts: underlying insecurities, terrible with money issues, socially awkwardness and trying to be extra pleasing. Well, nobody tell you how to live this goddamn life, so we all gotta learn it the hard way. Still, the negatives aren't the only thing I caught onto. I figured out a ton of things and many new skills (most under construction), including cooking, walking for miles and an inherent love towards certain aspects. My depth of emotional perception has had an explosive increase, all thanks to the heartbreaks, falls, breakdowns and other failures I've experienced.

But then again, reconnecting with lost classmates, meeting the voices on the other end of calls, running into the jerks you disliked way back in class 9 but realising how stupid you were, and a ton of other thing; I've learnt the importance of communication. Goddamn, a word not pronounced properly or a feeling not stressed out enough can cost a great deal of time and emotional stress. Go talk things out, numero uno. (The awkwardness stills is painful, but okay.)

An Aspect of what I learned can be beautifully summarised in this Quote:

"Be alone. Eat alone, take yourself on dates, sleep alone. In the midst of this, you will learn about yourself. You will grow, you will figure out what inspires you, you will curate your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity, and when you do meet the person who makes your cells dance, you will be sure of it, because you are sure of yourself." from How To Ruin Your Life (Without Even Noticing That You Are)

Nobody will teach you how to live this goddamn life

Okay, midway into my end-semesters, screwing up grades and shitting out cheesy blog posts. Why so? IDK, I don't have anything better to do this evening (Finished the first season of Rick and Morty (ARGH SO GOOD) Well, I'm no dot-com millionaire or a corporate hotshot, not even a normal functional adult. Just a normal undergrad at this point. But there have been some things I've noticed in my short, normal life. School has been a terrible
